Action Items: Parent Meeting Follow-up
Thank you to those of you who attended the Band Parent Meeting last night! It was great getting to meet so many of our new band parents at the end and I am excited to get this year underway. If you were unable to attend the Band Parent Meeting, you can view a recording of the meeting HERE. The slides for the meeting can be viewed at bit.ly/pmsbandparentmeeting25.
Action Items:
1. Read through the Band Handbook
2. Fill out the 2025-2026 Pearson Band Information Form. If you have multiple kids in the Pearson Band, you will need to fill out a separate form for each student. This form is due by Tuesday, August 26th.
3. If your student is using a school-owned instrument (oboe, bassoon, bass clarinet, french horn, euphonium, tuba), you will need to pay the School Owned Instrument fee on Online School Fees. This is due by September 5th.
4. Pay the band fee on Cheddar Up. If you have multiple kids in the Pearson Band, you will need to make a separate transaction for each student. Payment is due by September 19.
Reedy Band Jam (Preview Day) - Tuesday, September 9- Action Required
8th grade students who will be attending Reedy High School next year will attend the "Reedy Band Jam" on Tuesday, September 9th! During this event, our students will have the opportunity to go to Reedy HS and meet with the current members of the band to get a small taste of what they will experience on Friday at the Middle School Band Night and beyond!
That Tuesday, all Reedy-bound 8th grade students will need to go to the band hall for 2nd period. We have a bus set to take 8th grade students from Pearson to Reedy HS at 9:15 AM and will return at 10:45 AM. However, if the weather is nice, we might just walk over since we are so close. We will not be taking instruments. Students should wear their Pearson Band Shirt. This event has been approved by our school admin, and teachers are aware that these students will be missing at this time. All students are responsible for making up any missed work.
All Reedy-bound 8th Grade students must turn in this permission slip in order to go. This form was passed out to all students on the block day. If you have not turned in already, you can either turn in the hard copy on Wednesday or send a digital copy to Mr. Jenson over the weekend at jensonm@friscoisd.org
This is going to be a great experience for all involved, and we are so excited for our students to get to interact with our former Patriots in the Reedy Band!
Middle School Night with the Reedy Band- Friday, September 12th- Action Required
All 7th and 8th Grade band members that will be attending Reedy High School from Pearson Middle School and Pioneer Heritage Middle School are going to perform at the Reedy HS football game on Friday, September 12th! The combined bands will perform in the stands with the Reedy High School Band and then stay in the stands for a great view of the Reedy H.S. Marching Band at halftime. Just think, in just a year or two, all of you will be out there with them!
September 12 (7th & 8th graders) - Trip to Kuykendall Stadium (bus transportation provided to Kuykendall Stadium and back to Pearson)
5:30PM - Parents drop off students at Pearson to eat dinner with the Pearson Band.
6:15PM - Depart by bus to Kuykendall Stadium
7:00PM - Football Game Begins! We will be playing in the stands with the Reedy Band.
9:00-9:15PM - Estimated departure time from Kuykendall Stadium (we will be leaving after half time or at 9 PM, whichever happens last.)
9:30-10:00PM - Estimated arrival time at Pearson MS. Parents will pick up at Pearson.
NOTE Due to the number of students we are taking to this game (70+), parents will not be permitted to pick up their child from Kuykendall Stadium UNLESS they are chaperoning this trip. This is for the safety of all students and to allow us to depart as close to after half time as possible.
Volunteer to Chaperone HERE - Volunteers must complete a background check
Volunteers must purchase a ticket to the game HERE. Frisco ISD will not allow volunteers into the game without a ticket.
All Reedy-bound 7th and 8th Grade students must turn in this permission slip in order to go. This form was passed out to all students on the block day. If you have not turned in already, you can either turn in the hard copy on Wednesday or send a digital copy to Mr. Jenson over the weekend at jensonm@friscoisd.org
The Reedy Band is SUPER excited to have you as their guest and ask that you follow the same guidelines for the Reedy Band members during the game.
In the stands-
No cell phones, no food, no drinks, no candy, and no visitors.
Stay involved in the game! Stand up and cheer for Reedy!

Private Lessons
We highly recommend all students in Symphonic and Concert Band sign up for private lessons, even if you were not enrolled last year. Private lessons are a great way to progress on your instrument with the assistance of a master teacher who plays that same instrument. While tutoring in a core class might only be to catch up or erase deficits in the learning process, private lessons are for everyone. Typically, the top musicians in the band program are ones that are in private lessons!
This is the time to sign up. Our teachers are in high demand and teach across several different campuses and districts. Lesson times are first come first serve, so sign up ASAP. You can sign up by reaching out to the lesson teachers directly via email, which can be found at our website HERE. You can also email Ms. Jobe at joble@friscoisd.org
If you were enrolled in lessons last year, make sure you reach out to your lesson teacher to get on their schedule for this year.
