Percussion Concert


Please join the Reedy Band, Pearson MS and Pioneer Heritage MS Percussion Students for some amazing music!

 

Our special musical guest this year will be DFW Based Percussionist, Mr. Josh Jennings

 

The concert is this coming Saturday March 2nd, at 3pm in the Reedy High School Auditorium. This event also serves as a fundraiser benefiting our percussionists from Reedy HS, Pearson MS and Pioneer Heritage MS. Please invite your friends and family!


Free Percussion Clinic: 12PM - 1PM

Concert: 3PM - Reedy HS Auditorium

Admission: $10 per person at the door

FISD employees are free with ID.

Frisco High School Events


The Frisco Band is hosting our final “FBA” (Frisco Band Academy) for FHS-bound 7th and 8th graders, Monday, March 4, 5:00 – 7:00 pm, at the FHS Band Hall.  Click here for instructions on drop-off.  Students are highly encouraged to attend, even if they weren’t able to make it to previous events.  Please fill out this form to sign-up, and feel free to reply with any questions.

 

 THEN, on Friday, March 8, we’ll be holding our annual Frisco Band Cluster Spring Party!  5:00 – 10:00 pm.

 

  • All FHS-Bound 7th/8th Graders are welcome!  (Students MAY bring band friends not zoned to FHS to this event)

  • We’ll have lots of games going on, including video games, board games, and games in the gym (basketball, dodgeball, volleyball, soccer, etc).  *Students can play these games whether they sign up for official tournament teams or not!  Tournament sign-ups will be posted in their middle school band halls, and will be available through next Wednesday.

  • PIZZA and DESSSERTS will be provided free of charge by our wonderful Band Boosters! (vegetarian/non-dairy options available)

  • Students may be dropped off and picked up at the Band Hall entrance in the back of the school (Click here)

 

Pre-UIL Concert (6:30-9:00pm)



Due to circumstances beyond our control, the schedule of Pre-UIL on Thursday evening has changed. The below schedule has been updated with the new times. Thank you so much for your understanding!


When: Thursday March 7, 2023 - Reedy HS Auditorium


Bring: Instrument (and all the supplies needed to play it) and band binder.


Wear: “Formal Uniform” (Black dress pants, Black dress shirt (button-up or blouse) with sleeves that hit the elbows or below, Black dress shoes (closed toe, flat bottom), Plain, long black dress socks or stockings. CONCERT BAND ITINERARY


6:10pm Arrive at Reedy HS. Go to the Orchestra Room. Leave instrument cases in the car or at home.

6:20pm Warm-up begins.

6:50pm Concert Band Performs on the auditorium stage.

7:10pm Concert Band Performs Sightreading in the Band Hall (parents are welcome to watch sightreading).

7:25pm Approximate dismissal time.


SYMPHONIC BAND ITINERARY

6:55pm Arrive at Reedy HS. Go to the Orchestra Room. Leave instrument cases in the car or at home.

7:05pm Warm-up begins.

7:35pm Symphonic Band Performs on the auditorium stage.

8:00pm Symphonic Band Performs Sightreading in the Band Hall (parents are welcome

to watch sightreading).

8:30pm Approximate dismissal time.


This performance is part of the Concert and Symphonic Band curriculum as well as an essential part of our UIL preparation, therefore attendance and participation is required and graded. Students who do not attend Pre-UIL will not be eligible to attend UIL. If any conflicts arise, please contact Mrs. Black or Mr. Jenson ASAP.


 

Candy Donations Needed!


Parents, we are in need of candy (or "knowledge" as we call it in band) to give out as prizes to students. If convenient, please consider donating any extra candy you might have from birthday parties, gatherings, etc. or picking up a bag of variety mixed candy next time you go to the store.

Frisco ISD Summer Band Camp


The middle school band directors of Frisco ISD are excited to announce the dates of the 2024 Frisco ISD Middle School Summer Band Camp. This camp is for current 6th and 7th grade (fall 2024 7th & 8th grade) band students in Frisco ISD and will be aimed towards playing fun music and meeting new friends across the district. Your student also will have the opportunity to work with expert teachers and professional musicians / educators. Please see the information below for more details!

Who? Current 6th and 7th grade (fall 2024 7th & 8th grade) Frisco ISD Band students

When? Monday-Thursday, June 3-6, 2024 (8:00 AM-12:00 PM each day, concert on Thursday starting at 12:30 PM)

Where? Wakeland HS (10700 Legacy Dr, Frisco, TX 75034) & Emerson HS (6300 Collin McKinney Pkwy, McKinney, TX 75070)

How Much? $100

How do I sign up?  

  • Fill out the registration Google Form found in the Frisco ISD MS Summer Band Camp website from March 18-April 12, 2024.

  • Pay for the camp on OnlineSchoolFees during the payment window (April 22-May 3rd). Summer camp registration will be billed through the FISD online school fees account. The entry fee will not be active for a few weeks after filling out the registration form.

  • The payment window will be open in OnlineSchoolFees from April 22-May 3rd

  • For help accessing OnlineSchool Fees, please see the guidance from the FISD website below: https://www.friscoisd.org/about/resources-and-information/online-payment-systems 

  • Please note that your registration is not complete until payment has been received through OnlineSchoolFees in the payment window. End of day on May 3rd is a hard deadline to submit payment for the camp.


 

Summer Band Camps


We strongly encourage your student to attend a band camp this summer! It is a great opportunity for your student to improve on their instrument and make new friends. There are many options in the DFW metroplex and around the state.
