February 24th- Concert Band Pre-UIL Concert (5:40-7:00pm)


When: Monday, February 24th, 2025 - Reedy HS Auditorium


Bring: Instrument (and all the supplies needed to play it) and band binder.


Wear: “Formal Uniform” (Black dress pants, Black dress shirt (button-up or blouse) with sleeves that hit the elbows or below, Black dress shoes (closed toe, flat bottom), Plain, long black dress socks or stockings. See a great example of band students wearing the correct uniform in this instagram post!



CONCERT BAND ITINERARY

5:55 pm Arrive at Reedy HS. Go to the Choir Room

6:00 pm Warm-up begins

6:25 pm Concert Band Performs on the auditorium stage.

6:50 pm Concert Band Performs Sightreading in the Band Hall (parents are welcome to

watch sightreading too!)

7:15 pm Approximate dismissal time.


This performance is part of the Concert Band curriculum as well as an essential part of our UIL preparation, therefore attendance and participation is required and graded. Students who do not attend Pre-UIL will not be eligible to attend UIL. If any conflicts arise, please contact Mr. Jenson and Ms. Jobe ASAP.


 

March 4th- Symphonic Band Pre-UIL Concert (5:00-6:30pm)


When: Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 - Reedy HS Auditorium

March 7th- Concert Band UIL


The Pearson Concert Band will be attending the annual UIL Concert and Sight-Reading evaluation on Friday, March 7th at Reedy High School 


Schedule is as follows:


7:55am:  All Concert Band meet in the band hall wearing their Concert Black for a short warm-up and uniform

8:25am: Load busses

8:30am: Depart for Reedy High School

8:40am: Arrive at Reedy High School

9:10am: Begin warm-up

9:45am: Stage performance

10:15am: Sight-Reading performance

10:45am: Load the busses and depart for Pearson MS

10:55am: Arrive back at Pearson, unload and go to 4th period.


Students are welcome to bring their regular clothes and to change after we get back. 


Parents and families are invited and encouraged to attend both the Concert and Sight-reading portions of our evaluation, but please note that photography and videos are not allowed in the sight-reading room. 


We are in need of 1-2 parents with large vehicles that can help transport tubas and other large instruments from Pearson to Reedy HS the morning of the 7th. If you are available and can help, please email Mr. Jenson!


I am very excited for our students to have the opportunity to show-off what they have been working on this semester!



 

March 10th- Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night




Stop by Chick-Fil-A (7979 FM 423, Frisco, TX 75036) on March 10th at any time for the Pearson Band Spirit Night! Say you are there for the band and the band will receive some of the proceeds!

Monday PM- Clarinets

Tuesday AM- Trombones

Tuesday PM- Horns and Saxophones

Wednesday AM- Flutes/Oboes

Wednesday PM- Tubas, Euphoniums, and Low Reeds

Thursday AM- Trumpets

Concert Band Sectionals


Tuesday Morning: Clarinets

Tuesday Afternoon : Low Brass AND Low Reeds

Wednesday Morning: Flutes, Oboes, and Trumpets

Thursday Afternoon: French Horns AND Alto Saxophones


All morning sectionals are from 7:15-8:15 AM and afternoon sectionals are from 3:55-4:55 PM.


Band Sectionals / Bad weather policy:


-If school or school activities are cancelled for bad weather, sectionals are cancelled.

-If FISD has a delayed start to the school day, sectionals are cancelled.

-If there is bad weather, but school and school activities are not cancelled, we will still have sectionals. Please be safe when dropping your students off.

-If the band director needs to cancel a sectional, that will be communicated via email.




 

Frisco ISD Summer Band Camp


The middle school band directors of Frisco ISD are excited to announce the dates of the 2025 Frisco ISD Middle School Summer Band Camp. This camp is for current 6th and 7th grade (fall 2025 7th & 8th grade) band students in Frisco ISD and will be aimed towards playing fun music and meeting new friends across the district. Your student also will have the opportunity to work with expert teachers and professional musicians / educators. Please see the information below for more details!

 

Who? Current 6th and 7th grade (fall 2025 7th & 8th grade) Frisco ISD Band students

When? Monday-Thursday, June 9-12, 2025 (8:00 AM-12:00 PM each day, concert on Thursday starting at 11:00 AM)

Where? Memorial HS (12300 Frisco St., Frisco, TX 75033) & Emerson HS (6300 Collin McKinney Pkwy, McKinney, TX 75070)

How Much? $100

How do I sign up? 

Fill out the registration Google Form found in our Frisco ISD MS Summer Band Camp website from March 24-April 20, 2025.

Pay for the camp on OnlineSchoolFees during the payment window (April 28-May 9). Summer camp registration will be billed through the FISD online school fees account. The entry fee will not be active for a few weeks after filling out the registration form.

The payment window will be open in OnlineSchoolFees from April 28-May 9.

For help accessing OnlineSchool Fees, please see the guidance from the FISD website below:

 

Please note that your registration is not complete until payment has been received through OnlineSchoolFees in the payment window.  End of day on May 9th is a hard deadline to submit payment for the camp.

 

If you have any questions, please ask your campus band director. We hope to make music with you at the Frisco ISD Middle School Summer Band Camp in June!
