Main Event Party- January 9th
On Friday, January 9th, the Pearson Band will have its annual Main Event Party at Main Event Frisco. This optional event will be from 4:30-7:30 PM.
Tickets to the Main Event Social will be $21.50 and will include a $10 game card, 1 hour time card for arcade games, pizza, a drink, and unlimited access to bowling, laser tag, gravity ropes, billiards, shuffleboard, and mini-golf. Transportation will not be provided, so students will need to be dropped off at 4:30 and will need to be picked up by 7:30. Please see the attached guidelines list for more information.
Tickets for the event can be purchased on the Cheddar Up Online Store. Refunds will not be available for absent students, but they may use the purchased game card at any other point in time. This offer is for Pearson Band members only. Tickets must be purchased by Sunday, January 4th at 11:59 PM. Â
Per Main Event policies, we will need several parent chaperones for this event. If you are available and willing to chaperone, please sign-up at this link. We currently have spots for 5 chaperones, but more might be needed later depending on how many students go on the trip. Â
We are so excited to have this fun event with our band family!

Instrument Petting Zoo- January 17th
It's almost time! Our annual Instrument Petting Zoo will be on January 17th, 2026. If you have an incoming 6th grader that is interested in band, or that just wants to try playing all of the different instruments, you can sign up for a time at this event by clicking HERE. Please share with your friends and neighbors if they have an incoming 6th grader!
We will need several parent volunteers for this event- please be on the look-out for a sign-up in the next few weeks.
Practice Journals
All Beginning Band students should be taking their instrument home and practicing daily. During their practice time, students should play and reinforce concepts being taught in class and work on any material they are struggling to play. A daily practice habit is essential to becoming a great musician! Please help your student to build this habit by encouraging (and sometimes telling) them to practice every day.
All members of the Pearson Band have been assigned a practice journal to track their practicing and to help them develop practice habits that will lead them to success in band. This is a graded assignment due every Monday and must be signed by a parent to be considered complete. The rubric and expectations for the practice journal can be found here.
Parents, the following is a fantastic guide for what and how your student should be practicing: https://practicingguide.weebly.com/Â
