Pearson Band Fundraiser Kick-off- September 21st
It's fundraiser time in the Pearson Band! This year, we are partnering with a company called MoneyDolly to raise money for new music stands, clinicians, music, trips/competitions, instruments/accessories, and social events. This is a donation based fundraiser, so no sales required!
Students were given the above flyer on block day with instructions on how to get started and to begin the onboarding process. Parents, please help your students with getting set up. Students that complete all 6 onboarding steps by Monday when our fundraiser kicks off will get a prize in class. Whichever team (class period) has the highest percentage onboarded by Monday will also earn a donut party!
Pearson Band Spirit Wear!
For the first time in a long time, we are excited to offer Pearson Band Spirit Wear to our band families! Pearson Band members will still be receiving their yearly band shirt, but this spirit wear is open for the whole family. Currently in the store are a variety of t-shirts and sweaters/hoodies for when it (eventually) cools down outside!
You can view the Spirit Store by clicking HERE. Orders must be placed by October 4th and will be delivered to the school near the end of the month.
Frisco ISD Marching Band Showcase
The 8th Annual Frisco ISD Marching Band Showcase presented by Whataburger will be held at the Ford Center at The Star on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m.
All twelve Frisco ISD Marching Bands will perform their 2026 competitive marching band productions.
Tickets can be purchased here. Cost is $8 for general admission. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate (while supplies last); however, individuals are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
Performance at Hosp Elementary School- September 25th
We have been asked to perform at Hosp Elementary on Friday September 25th to celebrate their school-wide fundraiser kickoff- We are very excited about this opportunity!!
Schedule:
6:45am - Percussion students (and any parents who can help!) meet at Pearson to load and transport drums to Hosp
7:10am - Meet at the back entrance of Hosp (See map below)
7:15am - Begin performing
7:45am - Performance ends
Due to transportation restrictions, we are not able to take a bus, so all students who perform MUST get their own ride from Hosp to Pearson so they are not late for the start of the school day at 8:25am. We highly suggest carpooling!!
Donuts will be provided to all students who participate. There will be a sign-up sheet in the Pearson Band Hall so we know who and how many students are performing. This is an optional event.
Symphonic Band All-Region Masterclass #2- September 25th
On Friday, September 25th, we will hold our second (and final) All-Region Masterclass for students in Symphonic Band alongside our friends in the Pioneer Heritage Middle School Band. The purpose of this activity is to help students learn and improve on their All-Region music to prepare them for the audition in November.
Where: Pearson Middle School
Time: 4:30-6:00pm. Students should stay after school in the band hall from 3:45-4:30 to assist us with set up.
This is a required event. Email Mr. Jenson ASAP with any conflicts.
Pearson Middle School 8th Grade Football Game Performance- September 28th
Date: Monday, September 28th
Place: Reedy HS Football Field
Schedule:
5:00pm Percussion students / parents meet the band directors at the band hall to load and transport drums.
5:30pm Pearson Band students arrive at the Reedy HS Football Field. Students must provide their own transportation. Students should eat dinner before they arrive.
8:00pm All students are picked up from the Reedy HS Football Field. Percussion students / parents transport drums back to Pearson MS.
What to wear: Pearson Band t-shirt, any pants or shorts, and sneakers/tennis shoes. Baseball caps, sunglasses, and sunscreen are highly encouraged!
What to bring: Your instrument and everything you need to play it (if you have a home and a school instrument, bring the home instrument). Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, and Trombone players should bring their Pearson-provided flip folder and lyre. Oboe, Bassoon, Bass Clarinet, Euphonium, and Tuba players will need to bring their band binders and folding music stands. They will be provided a bottle of water and a small snack at the game. Students should bring their own water bottle/jug as well! It will still be warm.
Please note - students will NOT be allowed to purchase food and drinks from the concession stand during the game. Parents, please do not purchase food or drink for them and try to deliver it to the stands. Thank you!
This is a required event for all Concert and Symphonic Band Students. We will send separate communication with instructions for 8th grade students in football.

Private Lessons
We highly recommend all students in Symphonic and Concert Band sign up for private lessons, even if you were not enrolled last year. Private lessons are a great way to progress on your instrument with the assistance of a master teacher who plays that same instrument. While tutoring in a core class might only be to catch up or erase deficits in the learning process, private lessons are for everyone. Typically, the top musicians in the band program are ones that are in private lessons!
This is the time to sign up. Our teachers are in high demand and teach across several different campuses and districts. Lesson times are first come first serve, so sign up ASAP. You can sign up by filling out the form HERE.
If you were enrolled in lessons last year, make sure you reach out to your lesson teacher to get on their schedule for this year.
