Concert and Symphonic Band - November 18, 2022

Updated: Nov 17, 2022

High School Band Information

On Friday November 18, 8th grade students will begin making their high school four year plan. Our hope is that your student chooses to be part of the Reedy or Frisco High School Band! The high school bands are fantastic organizations where your kid can be surrounded by like-minded high-achieving students, where they can make great friends, and where they have the opportunity for leadership!

We know that our Pearson Band students are involved in many different activities. They can continue to do those activities in addition to band in high school. Any activity can be combined with band! Below are some examples of 4-Year Plans that show how band can be scheduled with advanced academics, athletics, and other classes. The below plans specify Frisco High School, but will apply to any Frisco ISD high school.

Please let Mrs. Black and Mr. Jenson know if you have questions about high school band. We both believe that band is one of the best things your student can be a part of in high school and hope they choose to continue.

Band Spirit Night at Rodeo Goat

Mark your calendars! Our next Band Spirit Night is December 6th at Rodeo Goat in Frisco. The proceeds for this spirit night will go towards band events, materials, and private lessons scholarships. Tell your family, friends, and neighbors to support the Pearson Band!

When: Saturday, December 10th, 9:00 am to early afternoon.

What/Where: The Reedy Band will be marching through Reedy High School zoned neighborhoods, playing festive holiday tunes, the school’s fight song and other fun tunes. This will be a parent-led fundraiser featuring special concerts along the route.

  • Full length concerts will feature half of the band playing approximately 14 minutes for a donation of $300.

Action required: Please submit the above google form link by 11/26 if you are interested in hosting a concert at your house or within your neighborhood.

Please note that submitting interest does not guarantee a concert. We will be setting March-a-Thon routes based on interest and logistical considerations. If you are along the route and selected, you will be notified by 11/28, and payment will be due by 12/1.
