Chick-fil-a Spirit Night
Mark your calendars! We were able to schedule a bonus Spirit Night Fundraiser on Monday January 30th at the Chick-fil-a on Stonebrook and 423. Visit from 6:00am-7:30pm and mention that you are with the Pearson Band for us to receive a portion of the proceeds.
These Spirit Night Fundraisers are an easy way for the Pearson Band Parent Association (also known as the booster club) to earn money for activities and events.
Please plan on eating at Chick-fil-a on January 30th to support the Pearson Band!!
FISD Solo Contest
Date - Saturday February 4
Location - Stafford Middle School
Students have individually assigned times and rooms which can be viewed HERE.
We have been asked that most students leave their cases in the car when possible in order to preserve space. Larger instruments like the tubas, bass clarinets, bassoons, and bari saxophones can bring their cases inside and set up their instruments in the gym.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your performance time so that you can find your room, check in, and warm-up (in the gym) before playing. Students should leave after they perform. Results, comment sheets, and medals will be given to students in class the next school day.
Students should only play in the gym or in their solo room. Nobody should be playing in the hallways.
Students should wear nice clothes (dresses, dress shirts, slacks, dress shoes, etc.) to their performance. Please no t-shirts, jeans, shorts, or tennis shoes. Our concert black uniform from the Winter Concert is acceptable but not required.
If you are unable to attend due to illness or any other reason, please email the band directors ASAP.
Side by Side Clinic
On Tuesday February 7th, both Concert and Symphonic Band will have the opportunity to rehearse alongside students in the Reedy Bands. This is an event we look forward to every year and are very excited that we are going to be able to hold again this year! We will send more details soon, but wanted to give you preliminary information for planning purposes.
Schedule:
7:30am SYMPHONIC BAND students dropped off at Reedy High School
9:30am SYMPHONIC BAND students load bus and arrive at Pearson Middle School
2:00pm CONCERT BAND students load bus and arrive at Reedy High School
4:00pm CONCERT BAND students are picked up from Reedy High School
Your student will be bringing home a travel release form to be signed and turned in. Please note, students are not allowed on a bus until this form is turned in. An email stating you give permission does not suffice - we must have the official form.
This is a required event for both Concert and Symphonic Band. Please email your student's band director ASAP if there is a schedule conflict.
UIL Sectionals
Students in Concert and Symphonic Band have a weekly sectional. These are required, graded rehearsals.
